Welcome to the World's Fair Newsletter: May 2015
Website Update
The last time I did a major upgrade to the World's Fair site I swore it would be the last time. With 1,100+ pages and thousands of lines of code, it's a major task.
According to Google, about 28% of the visitors to the site are using tablets or other mobile devices. This number increases every month. Currently the site is not responsive so viewing it on a "smart" phone is not a wonderful experience ... sorry about that!
In addition to that, Google announced that sites that are not designed for mobile devices will lose ranking to those that have been updated. (boo!).
I have decided to rebuild the site and make it responsive, so it adjusts automatically to the size of the viewer's device and more enjoyable for those using non-desktop devices.
I have started with Flyers & Brochures!
All the flyer and brochure pages are done.
I would greatly appreciate your input:
- Are those pages working on your current device?
- Is the new Navigation Menu workable for you? Are you able to find everything?
- What, if anything, would you like to see different?
People Seeking Information:
Take a look and see if you can help these people find answers to their questions. View the complete list of questions. If you have a question email me and I will add it to the list.
New on the Website
The 40-page booklet from the Theme Center (Democracity) was only available as a download but now is Democracity is viewable on as one of the new responsive pages on the site.

Lost on facebook?: Many people have posted on the 1939 New York World's Fair Community facebook page only to get lost on the left-side under "Posts to Page." If you want your post to be seen in the main section of the page, I need to make you an editor. Here's what you need to do:
- Send a "Friend Request" to my personal account (Paul M. Van Dort or TriviaWolf).
- Be sure to "Like" the 1939 New York World's Fair Community page.
- Send me a message to let me know you would like to be an Editor and I'll do the rest.
