Hussar
Postcard courtesy of Cathy Scibelli

Polish “Hussar” of the 16th Century. Armor used by King Jan Sobieski who saved Vienna from Tartar invasion, thus safeguarding Christianity in Europe. The arrangement of the feathers is so that fast riding produces a whirlwind that a single rider is actually a horde.
