ELECTRIFIED FARM AT NEW YORK WORLD'S FAIR SHOWS HOW EIECTRICITY CONTRIBUTES TO BETTER LIVING AND INCREASED PROFITS
Manned by graduates of some of the leading agricultural colleges of the country, a visit through the Electrified Farm of the Electric Light and Power Companies at the New York World's Fair is an education on the practical applications of electricity on the farm.
Many of the uses of electricity are well known to the nearly 1,500,000 farms receiving electric service. At the Electrified Farm all of the common uses for this type of farm, and many of the new, tested and proved practices that are within the means of the average farmer, are assembled in a complete working unit. More than one hundred applications of electricity are shown. including some new equipment not yet on the market.
This is not a "stunt" farm. but a practical working farm with a farm house and buildings, completely equipped, cattle, horses, chickens, even a flower and vegetable garden for the farmer's wife -- all on less than one acre.
The house, shown in this picture, is an attractive , two-story frame structure. with a tile terrace. In front of the house is the flower and vegetable garden; apple trees, elms and maples make a picturesque setting. At one end of the plot are the silo and barn, the milking parlor, dairy room, workshop and horse shed, at the other end of the plot, the poultry house, greenhouse, hotbeds, community packing house and orchard.
Completely electrified throughout, the farm is a magnet not only for farmers, but for city dwellers as well. It is positive proof of the dollars and cents value to the farmer of electricity on the farm, in addition to the comforts and convenience it makes possible.

In a model community packing house on the Electrified Farm, an exhibit of the Electric Light and Power Companies at the New York World's Fair, farm visitors are shown how their Grange or other farm organizations can operate at small cost a modern plant for grading, packing and storing fruit, vegetables and other farm products.
Electric freezing cabinets for the individual use of each farmer's family take the place of locker storage. Meat and poultry, fruits and vegetables can be kept at freezing temperature for future use in this modern little packing and storage house.
