CONVERSE TRUFANT. A BLACKSMITH FOR FIFTY YEARS, SHOWS HIS SKILL AT WORLD'S FAIR ELECTRIFIED FARM

Converse Trufant has known the days when a blacksmith had to do everything himself. Hi,s work of repairing machinery and doing other odd repairing jobs on the Electrified Farm of the Electric Light and Power Companies is now child's play, he says. "With this kind of a workshop on a farm, a farmer doesn't have to worry about something breaking down and having to take time out from his farm work to drive to town to have it repaired."

THIS IS NOT A GOLDBERG CARTOON, IT'S THE COOLING, PASTEURIZING AND BOTTLING PLANT AT THE WORLD'S FAIR ELECTRIFIED FARM

Milk right from the cows is cooled, pasteurized and bottled with no exposure to air in the milk room of the Electrified Farm of the Electric Light and Power Companies. The first time air comes in contact with the milk is when the cap is removed in your own home. Everything is done electrically and all that's needed is an adjustment of thermostat here and there. No wonder these fellows stay so clean in their white uniforms.

THE FARMER TAKES A LIFE

Larry Eller says he is going to kill chicken this summer at the World's Fair Electrified Farm of the Electric Light and Power Companies, but not for general display. Only farmers seriously interested in the science of killing chickens, and then scalding and waxing them electrically for market can watch. Larry expects to get peak egg production from his flock of Rhode Island Reds because the electric henhouse lighting insures a long working day for the hens.
